I Heart Button Badges
Just come across this great piece of Brigitte Herrod artwork made out of button badges. I think I might have a go at something like this - but on a smaller scale!
This incredible piece of art is just stunning. Each picture is created using a mixture of buttons from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s on a canvas measuring 120cm x 120cm. Each picture is a one off and totally original. You cannot help but stand and stare at all the buttons - the experience is a trip down memory lane that does not fail to make everyone smile.

First button badges
Whitehead & Hoag, an advertising company of Newark, New Jersey, mass-produced the first button badges in the late 19th century and early 20th century. If you happen to find one of their originial buttons, consider yourself lucky - they're worth a fortune!
At an auction on ebay a rare 1908 Taft/Sherman Presidential Pin began on October 13, 2003 with an initial bid of $250.00. Proving to be a popular item, 37 bids were placed during the 10-day auction. The auction closed on October 23rd with the winning bid of $9,200.00.
